Coronation Quiche, Date Loaf and new fancy cooking classes

JUNE 2026

It's all about afternoon tea !

June is a wonderful month to put the kettle on and dream about afternoon tea!

The month starts with the Kings' Birthday long weekend - a perfect time to plan luncheons and afternoon tea. With this in mind, we are very excited to re-introduce some fancy favourites for our June Specials.

We will also be celebrating all the wonderful British inspired sweets that we bake here - Eccles cakes, custards tarts, Cornish Fairings, Bakewell Tart and more. These classic treats will brighten up these cold winter afternoons.

And our new series of cooking classes will inspire you to bake these classics at home. Read more about our wonderful new series of classes - The Best of British Baking - below.

And we look forward to seeing some of you at the Woodend Farmers' Market on Saturday

JUNE SPECIALS

Coronation Quiche - Date & Walnut Loaf

Some of you wait ALL year for this month - just so you can enjoy the CORONATION QUICHE - in fact we already have orders in.

This special, seasonal quiche was created to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III in 2023. It is made with spinach, cheddar, broad beans & tarragon - a very satisfying addition to your royal luncheons and suppers. It will be available throughout June - feel free to call ahead and order yours.

We are also welcoming back our traditional Date Loaf - made with walnuts, spices and a hint of coffee - it's dark, rich and it loves lashings of butter. Also available throughout June.

We're so excited to finally share something we've been working on! Over the past year, we've been developing a four-part course designed to teach your teens how to cook. As many of you know, we have five children ourselves, all Gen Z, aged between 15 and 23. So we get it. We know how busy life can be, and how often you hear the question, "What's for dinner?" While some days can feel repetitive or stressful, it's worth remembering just how quickly these teenage years fly by. It's important to...
